Modville
Modville, a neo-noir Southern Gothic sci-fi graphic novel created by Jesse Negron and produced by Mechanical Cake in collaboration with Ridley Scott’s Scott Free Productions, is set in a flooded future New Orleans where artificial humanoids known as “MODs” inhabit a decaying French Quarter.
For this project, I developed a series of original designs spanning interface, props, and collectibles, contributing to both the visual language and physical world of the story in collaboration with Forward Originals.
JURIS Chair — HUD & Replica
I designed a heads-up display (HUD) for the JURIS Chair, creating a visual system to support its in-world function. The interface was then translated into a full-scale physical element using laser-cut and etched UV acrylic. I also developed a 3D concept model of the chair with additional sci-fi embellishments, including a custom control stick design, and built a prototype panel for the transport crate incorporating laser-cut stencils and custom decals.
JURIS Typography - Badge
Redesigned typography for Modville Louisiana Police badges, developing waterslide decals used in prop fabrication to ensure clarity, consistency, and alignment with the JURIS visual system.
JURIS Logo - Pistol
Refined and redrew the JURIS logo for application on Hawthorne’s prop pistol, designed to integrate seamlessly with the weapon’s form while reinforcing the identity of the Modville police unit.
Collector’s Display
Designed a mausoleum-inspired display to house Hawthorne’s gun and badge, incorporating narrative elements tied to the world of Modville. The piece was developed as a 3D model and digitally rendered to guide physical production.
JURIS Police Unit (Concept Study)
An exploratory 3D concept for Hawthorne’s flying police cruiser, developed as an extension of the JURIS system and its visual language within the Modville world.
